About the Event

The African Talking Drum & Percussions Workshop is an exciting opportunity to have a hands-on introduction to playing some historical musical instruments which date back to 3000 B.C. These instruments originate from the Yorùbá tribe in West Africa and produce sounds which you will never hear from modern instruments. During this 2-hour workshop, you will learn how to handle and play the Talking Drums as well as creating a rhythm with the percussions. You've got to experience this! No musical experience is required and we encourage young people and adults to participate.

Attendees of this 1-day workshop will receive a 10% discount on our 4-week course at the African Percussions Clinic!

The Facilitator, Samuel Jonathan, is a descendant of Yorùbáland and has been playing African percussions internationally since 1972. You will find his signature style of coaching both inspiring and uplifting.
